Only 6% of young people telephone their friends

Young people spend more than 2 hours a day on WhatsApp

According to a study by ASUS, 74% of young people between 18 and 35 years old communicate with their friends daily through electronic devices and 42% admit to using instant messaging applications for more than two hours a day to talk with your friends.

Among them, WhatsApp is the favorite. It is the one preferred by more than 85% of young people at that age to communicate daily. They are followed by social networks and their messaging systems such as Facebook and Instagram's direct message system.

Telephone calls are relegated to a third level, being used only by 6% of young people when communicating with their friends.

Of course, 53% of young people between 18 and 35 years old use social networks to keep up to date with what their friends are doing, even if they are not the preferred means of speaking directly with them. The percentage grows to 59% among those between 18 and 25 years old, while the oldest remain at 49%.

Interestingly, only 7% of young people admit to using instant messaging applications to flirt or meet new people. However, according to the study, 73% of young people do use these instant messaging tools to talk to their partner every day.

In fact, 51% of respondents say that they talk on WhatsApp with their partner continuously. Among young people between 18 and 25 years old, 88% indicate that they talk to their partner on WhatsApp at least once a day.
