Digital natives. The concept makes more and more sense. According to a study by the Common Sense Media organization, 38% of children under the age of two have used a mobile or tablet to play games or watch videos.
The percentage is very high, especially compared to that of two years ago . In 2011, 10% of children under 2 years old had used a mobile device connected to the Internet.
72% of children under 8 years have used a mobile or tablet
Even higher is the percentage of children under 2 years old who have used other equipment. For example, 66% have used television (the percentage remains stable between the 2011 and 2013 data).
The report also indicates that the use of computers among babies grew from 4% to 10% in these two years, while the number of children who saw content on a DVD before reaching the age of two has dropped from 52% to 46%. .
The study also notes that 72% of children under the age of 8 have used a mobile or tablet at some point in their lives.
The challenge now is to ensure that the time that children spend in front of mobile screens is used for both leisure and learning .
